High Five for Friday!

Last week my brother, while semi intoxicated, promised he would read my blog twice a week and comment at least once. Today, I am thinking today, will be the day he comments. This makes me want to make this high five for Friday spectacular – with glitter and unicorns and LISA FRANK everything. But I will try to keep it under control, since I know one boy is likely reading this. And if he fakes reading it, I am going to a concert with him tonight, so I will be able to quiz him on whether or not he is even mentioned in this post at all and when he says no he wasn’t, I will punch him, because that is what big sisters do. 🙂

I got HBO this week. And what is most exciting about that is I can now watch Newsroom. Thank goodness. Also great – I can watch awesome movies all the time! Like Horrible Bosses at 11pm last night! Amazing!

Speaking of HBO, that means I had to call comcast, then I had to go to comcast, then I had to call the number on the magical receipt to have the new box set up, which has that ever worked for anyone completely? No. I am convinced it has not because it hasn’t worked for me the 3 times I have had to do it. So, I had to call 1-800-COMCAST, which had been done in this household multiple times since September, luckily not by me because someone likely would have ended up dead, but this guy was nice. He said he was sending a signal to my box – which seriously, what does that even mean? Because that never works either. In fact, I am laying on my bed, playing with the cord to the fan and petting Ollie because I know the whole I’m sending a signal to your box thing is total BS, but then something magical happened. IT WORKED! I told Alafar (legit his name, I asked) that he was a magical wizard and he was going to get to live! He seemed very happy about that despite the fact that I still declined the survey, mostly so I could watch HBO.

The first thing I watched on HBO – Something Borrowed. Haven’t read the book and watched 7 minutes of the middle of the movie and I can tell you exactly who it started and ended without watching more.

Tired of hearing about TV? Yeah, well, I am tired of hearing about politics, get over it peeps. Move on.

Speaking of the election – how about gay marriage? Woot Woot! And how funny and accurate is college humor? Spot on!

And look at this ladies, we are so awesome!! This is something for all of us to be proud of!

Speaking of working women, I have edited so much this week it is absolute insanity. I started the week off with writing down all the sessions I needed to edit, then cried, then the amazing Emily Chastain sent me the Imagine Dragons cd and my life has been amazing ever since. And I have edited a shiz ton!

Because I have had so much work, I haven’t had time to edit my personal stuff and I can always tell when my blog is absent of personal stuff, some of my fav readers stop reading and don’t comment, but trust me, this winter you are going to get so sick of seeing me and Ollie and all of these amazing trips I have been on, you are going to want to see e sessions and weddings to the max. 😉

I want to blog about ICELAND soooooooooooooo bad though – look how fun we are!

Clearly there are not of pictures in this post. Don’t worry, remedying that now.

Do you think I can make these? Because I think I want to try.

I think I am going to keep this baby for myself.

Is it weird that I want this sorta? No idea what I would do with it, maybe sit around the house in it, like I sometimes think about doing with my wedding dress.

Whenever I am at home, Melanie steals my phone and takes a lot of self portraits, I am being really nice and not posting the one she hates the most even though it is crazy funny and posting this one instead.

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week, wasn’t it just Halloween? I’m super excited to say that next year I may actually be hosting Thanksgiving at my own house. So exciting!

But seriously folks, black friday  – stores are now opening at 8pm on Thanksgiving, is it to avoid trampling? This ecard sums it up pretty well.

Last and best news ever:  Janice Reyes Photography and good old DLP will be doing the Snap Happy Hunt on Instagram again in December!!!!! Get so excited!!!! Have an amazing weekend!

Emily - Oh man. Where do I begin? So much awesomeness in this post (and not just because I got a shout-out.) Your brussel sprouts look amazing. I can never even get Paul to try and taste them. I want to blog Iceland so bad too, and that’s saying a lot because clearly I never want to blog.

LOVE that Iceland pic!!! so cool.

I have recently discovered that I LOVE brussel sprouts!! I’ve been missing out my entire life! I just made my own batch the other day & they were glorious! Thanks to the hubs, I am expanding my palette – asparagus & brussel sprouts = things I could eat every single day.

Brett - Don’t want to be confrontational in my first post but Newsroom could not be more boring

    Betsy - #1 – MUST HAVE BRUSSEL Sprouts recipe…
#2 – Buy that Ravens Marching Band Uniform and rock it at a sports bar during game day! I bet people would by you LOTS of beer….though you cannot eat or drink while wearing a marching band uniform so that would be awkward…

  • November 17, 2012 - 10:46 am

Anna - haha…you make me happy. And p.s. I know someone on the Marching Ravens…she is still in high school too. Pretty crazy.
