In April of this year, I moved into a cute little studio right on the square in Canton. It had gotten to the point where I could no longer ingest Starbucks coffee and the thought of going to Google maps just to find one between me and my potential client was getting on my last nerve. It was legit making me not want to respond to emails. So, when Elle of Elle Event Designs emailed me and was talking about this cute little space, I was all in. I honestly didn’t even need to look at it to know it could be made into something beautiful and perfect for me. Elle has a cute meeting space on the first floor and an adorable craft room in the back. And we both benefit from a beautiful garden I forgot to take photos of in the back.
When I started started thinking about what to do with the space, I realized it was time to freshen up my site and workspace. I totally change the colors of my site and rebranded to be cute and springy – mint and coral. I love it. This is what it looked like before we moved in.
And when things were moved out.
And now. I wanted my clients to come over and feel at home. I knew I wanted to be able to offer them wine and cool beers and cold water and of course, coffee and tea. I am finding that having a space is awesome because people actually stay longer and I get to know them even better. I would say that my meetings at a Starbucks were generally 45 minutes long and I think the average in the studio is now an hour and a half. While yes, that can be a long time, it goes surprisingly fast and I am always impressed by how much I feel like we have bonded afterwards. I feel like this was an awesome business move for me and I cannot be happier with how things are going in my cute little space.
I love having a place to show off some antique cameras. And personal touches.
I’m pretty obsessed with all my antique pieces. I got them all from an antique store in Frederick called Tuscany Designs. Except for this table. This I got at a yard sale for $20.
Sorry for the grainy-ness. I took these as it was getting dark outside believe it or not.
I even love the bathroom curtain and decor. Urban Outfitters for those of you who want to know.
And this is outside! If you are ever around – come stop by!! We would love to see ya!
