I am seriously the luckiest photographer in the world. I was lucky enough to convince Lisa and Mark they had to use me for their wedding in Austin, Texas at the beautiful Villa Antonia after Lisa’s college roommate and best friend, Emily Chastain, told her she had to chat with me. Lisa and Mark are the sweetest people in the world!! They were brought together by OkCupid – which is becoming increasingly popular among the how did you meet stories I have been hearing. Lisa got an email from some guy who lived in Brooklyn under the screeenname Divertido4sure, who definitely caught her eye and curiosity. She immediately noticed a lot of positive things from his first correspondence: 1) He read and incorporated great personal tidbits from her profile; 2) He used proper grammar; and 3) He had a great sense of humor and he was super handsome. They connected over a funny story about our experiences with border patrol while traveling to/from Canada. She figured he would be worthwhile to meet but in a complete turn of events, she decides instead to deactivate her account. Luckily, she regained her senses after vanishing from all social media and feeling terrible for just deactivating her account on pour Divertido4sure, she tried it all again. Phew. Or else I wouldn’t have gotten to go to Austin for a wedding!
Their day was likely not what they had in mind, while it was in fact absolutely gorgeous, it was also 27 degrees and snowed for a brief few moments. Regardless, Lisa and Mark handled it in stride and made the best of their day and I am so glad they did because it totally shows in their photos. 27 degrees, people and these two are warmed by the power of love. Totally cheesy, but so true!
Lisa & Mark – I truly cannot thank you enough for allowing me to capture such a magical day. Like Emily said during her speech, I wish you true joy in your future together…and a little warm weather would be a nice touch as well. 🙂
Right?? I got to shoot a wedding there!!!
I adored their entrance expressions and loved the during Emily’s toast….she actually handed them toast. That’s a first.
