I have been looking forward to Angie and Rob’s wedding since their freezing cold engagement session this past February. Angie wore an adorable dress and we made it look like it was warm out like it was our job. We sat in my car and drank champagne and warmed up and talked about their big day. I loved it. So I knew I would love their wedding.
These two got engaged last Christmas. I like Angie’s story best so I think I will have her tell the story.
Well of course it is Christmas morning so I am up at 7:30 just like any excited kid on Christmas! I wake up Rob so we can start opening gifts. He slowly gets out of bed, but gives me the hint like he wants me to head out to the living room. I do, and don’t think twice about it. We always start with the stocking stuffers and take turns as we open gifts. I go first and open up a pair of gloves that has a note on it. I read the note and can’t get over how sweet it is! I give Rob a big hug and just think in my head “man I better step it up next year!” He begins pulling out real stocking stuffers like- trail mix, Starbucks gift cards, Chap Stick…etc. Then, we move on to the gifts under the tree. As I open up my next gift it was a shirt and it had another NOTE!! Let’s just say all my gifts had a sweet note to go with them that was sentimental to our relationship and past. Again, I’m thinking in my head “Rob is about to open a Raven’s piggybank and there is no love note in it!” After opening all the gifts and reading each note I was so impressed with how well Rob did with his Christmas presentation this year (not thinking it was leading up to a proposal!). We exchange hugs and I begin to clean up the wrapping paper. Rob said there is one more gift and signals for me to have a seat on the couch next to him and says “these gifts symbolize the memories we’ve already made. This next gift marks the promise of memories yet to come.”
How could you not heart that? I loved their day. It was perfectly fall, there was a horse drawn carriage, and leaves, and I already loved all of their friends because this is one of the many referrals from the amazing Jaime (and Ryan – right, Ryan?). The day was really amazing.
Angie & Rob – I hope your few nights in Deep Creek was wonderfully relaxing – you totally deserve it. I have loved working with the two of you and am so sad to see your wedding end. But perhaps we can still drink champagne. Somewhere inside because that seems more ideal. 🙂 Thanks for being so awesome!
