Megan & Tim – Snowy Elopement in Annapolis

Jan 23, 2014

Oh Tuesday. I am not sure Tuesday could have been more perfect for these two love birds. I texted Megan in the 8 o’clock hour to let her know that the circuit court was closed on Tuesday and to make sure we were still on for our shoot. Just a few minutes later, I get a text back saying she thought that might happen, but everything else is still going according to plan. I headed down early since there were already inches of snow on the ground in Frederick and hung around Annapolis for awhile where there was absolutely no snow (thanks for being my lunch buddy Anna Banana!) even though Anna says there was at least an inch….legit it was a dusting at this point. By the time I got over to the incredible Loews hotel, there were definitely inches and it wasn’t even that pretty snow, it was that blustery gross snow that was swirling in circles. Not cool. When I get there, I find out that the valet happens to be an ordained minister so there may be a wedding that day after all. It was so crazy!! I meet Megan and Tim (for the first time, mind you) and we totally hit it off. We started with family photos and then headed down to Dry 85 and the Red Wine Bar for a few celebratory drinks and shots! Photos, not shots. Sorry. By the time we got back, Loews had set up the room exactly how I asked them to and completed it with candles and flowers and a whole appetizer spread and of course, champagne.

Believe it or not, this Stephen Patterson, the valet, brought most of us to tears talking about “how we are all here because of spoiled plans and surprise challenges, decided that while life can be hard, we can weather storms together. Committing to each other that no matter how hard the wind blows, they will hold each other up and no matter how bad the blizzard, they will shield one another from it. And if you two continue to see disappointments as opportunities and hardship as a shared adventure, you will not only have a long marriage, but a really fun one too.”

Meg & Tim – I adore you two and already know that we really will be life long friends even after only knowing you for 2 hours. I hope you have an incredible time in NYC. Drink a few brewski’s for me!

For anyone who missed it, their story made ABC 2’s The List last night! And should be in the Sun soon as well!
