A couple weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing Maura and Dan’s wedding in Georgetown. It was a beautiful day, filled with so many incredible personal touches and some truly touching moments. Everything that I saw that day was created with so much love and detail – the quilt that Maura’s mom made for the canopy of the chuppah, the guestbook which guests were encouraged to make their own quilt piece for the couples wedding quilt to cutting off a piece of her mom’s wedding dress to wrap the bouquet with – everything was so Maura and Dan. More so than the details, Maura and Dan are strong advocates that stand up for what should be right in the world. I love that they view marriage as a privilege since we are still fighting so everyone can have the same rights as them when it comes to choosing who they marry. Maura and Dan together are definitely a force to be reckoned with in the world and I know that together, they are completely unstoppable.
