Within an hour of knowing her and her mom, I loved Rachael (and her mom). Not only because she is funny and super sweet, but because we had this almost instant connection. Within the first hour of me going through my paperwork, showing off my albums and slideshows, chatting about possibilities for locations for engagement sessions, Rachael tells me that she had a liver transplant in 2009. Despite the fact that I wanted to tell her right away that I worked (then currently) as a donation specialist for the Washington Regional Transplant Community, I let her tell me her whole story. How her fiance was so strong and there for her during the recovery process, how she has totally gotten a second chance at life, everything. I got goosebumps. Then I told her what my job was and how honored I was to be talking to someone that my past job directly effected in a positive way. It was amazing. And while I don’t work there any longer, I still think fondly about the amount of people I have unknowingly helped through that job and how meaningful it really was. Lucky for me, Rachael canceled her meetings with other photographers and booked me and I couldn’t have been happier.

Saturday was amazing. Rachael and Rob were wed at Swan Harbor Farms with their incredible families and friends present. Perfectly cloudy skies that never gave way to rain made for gorgeous photo ops and as a photographer, that is just perfect. Rachael and Rob are living it up in Mexico right now and I sincerely hope they are having the time of their lives!!
