2014!!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IS ALMOST OVER! Dudes. Where did this year go? I remember thinking that a few years ago I would think – where did this month go or a few weeks passed by without me really even getting a chance to breath but now it’s years going by?? Come on! Slow down! I cannot be that old yet!
Regardless, the year has passed and here I am reminiscing about how incredible and fun it has been. I continue to love this job more than ever and am thanking my lucky stars that I get to live this incredible life. I have gotten up nearly every weekday morning this year around 7am, made my tea, and sat down at a computer (in the happiest way) to do what I love. And on weekends I get up early and get to do what I truly love which is interacting and making magic happen. The other best things about doing this amazing job is getting to do it with people who have become my best friends. There is no love like the love of your friends in the wedding industry. And getting to show up to a wedding and create with this incredible, real talent – is just amazing.
I cannot thank all of my clients and friends and even my family enough for another amazing year for my business. Clients – thank you for hiring me – for trusting me to capture these memories that become so much more as the years pass and for being just downright great and kind people. I picked only the best couples this year – thanks for picking me right back. Friends – thank you for reminding me to get a life, stop booking crazy amounts of things, being tolerant of the amount of time it takes for me to return a phone call and being there for me when times are tough. And family – especially and mostly Frankie – thank you for being there when this job gets the best of me (aka October) and I have about 1-5 crying fits per week because I have way too much to do. Thanks for understanding that I cannot sit with you on the couch and watch tv without editing just one more session that will only take less than an hour (to edit…forgot to mention that I still want to pop it up on my blog after resizing and writing the post). Thanks for just dealing with my crazy. You are the very best thing. 🙂
Anna. Oh Anna. You have no idea what it has meant to me to have you with me for the last 2 years. You have been my calm all the time: when I am freaking out that a timeline is way off or a videographer has decided he will put his stuff dead center or I want to murder my flashes. You always know what to say or what to do to make me smile and forget about anything bad. You know my looks and I know yours right back. Having you there to try new things, teach me stuff I didn’t even know about, and being such an incredible friend has been absolutely the best thing I could have asked for this little gig of mine I have going on. I will never be able to thank you enough. And I am so excited to see where the next year takes you – I cannot wait to see your little company grow leaps and bounds. You can do anything.
So – enough with the mushy stuff. Want to see me making ridiculous faces at Anna’s camera?
This year we did a lot of sessions at my house – in fact, we did two maternity sessions in January before I even moved in.
It snowed at the end of January, but that didn’t stop me from making anyone go out in it.
It was still cold in February for Jen and Evan’s wedding.
I got to go to Austin for a wedding where it snowed…. I have one this January in Austin as well and I really am hoping that maybe the snow could stay away this time.
I love having Janice second shoot!!
When I was going through these, I didn’t realize how many of them involved Anna and cake. It made me smile.
I made Emily second shoot with me in Charleston. That was funsies!
Windy day in Bmore! NBD.
I love this picture. Here I am trying to pose people in and Hillary and Nick are practicing their romantic almost kiss. 😉
Zoo weddings are Anna’s favorite.
The way I pose my groups, someone usually always gets picked last. I always feel bad about it and almost always someone says something about it. For some reason two girls were left in this group and there was no way I was going to make them feel like the kid who gets picked last for dodge ball. So I walked them to their spots.
I actually remember exactly what I was thinking here. It was where is the bride’s bouquet? What can I use instead of her bouquet? Anna go make that bridesmaid throw her bouquet over that fence so Elizabeth can hold something.
This is about the time of year it started to get hot.
Anna didn’t mind.
This is me thinking. I actually know exactly where I want her to hold it but I don’t really know how I want her to stand yet. I am still in the process of figuring the shiz out. Sometimes I need a moment.
I love getting ready selfies.
Anna loves when I am in her first look spot and am doing ballerina moves/lunges/wtf am I doing?
Us discovering our lighting is not the same.
Sometimes I shoot by myself in other states. It’s ok because it was soooooooo pretty.
Kevin is not impressed by my modeling. We can’t all look like we walked out of a JCrew catalog, Kevin! GOSH! So dapper.
My “I don’t like this ceiling situation” face.
I could do a whole series called Anna dances too close/I have my 50 on.
Hey Ken!
This gal was such a stunner.
Oh ya know….just selfieing for my end of the year blog post. Don’t mind me.
Cute Anna. Scared Anna.
I love posing people and then I can’t get out.
BUGS.
Hey Brian Crow! And Donald!
The many poses of Annabanana.
Anna likes to do cool things with lights. I let her. Because I think it is cool.
Showed up massively early/waiting for a storm to pass/I really like this chaise.
Are we doing intros? When is this happening? When is dinner? That is totally my face on the right.
Just stop drinking and get in here. Seriously. 🙂
Lee makes this face before he walks in front of you. But then does it anyway.
But then you kick him to the ground. Sike. I have no idea why he is down there.
One time Anna hurt her foot so she had to wear sneakers to a wedding. WHITE sneakers. The whitest sneakers you ever did see. I have no more comments on that. I’m just happy they weren’t shape ups or something.
Tea time? Coffee break? These two….
I DJ. Duh.
Shadow selfie.
I make sure at least one bridesmaid falls in love with me per wedding.
Oh yeah…this girl.
She hit her head. We do dumb things sometimes. Especially towards the end of the year.
Like I said – Anna likes cake.
Oh the badge. A venue I love gives you a badge you have to wear until it closes to the public. People make fun of me. So I ask them to wear it instead.
Hey Elle!!
I went to middle school with this gal and I love Jeff. So glad this got taken.
Stay. Right. There. Donotmove!
Sometimes Marcella teaches drunk wedding guests how to use their camera. I especially love the tongue.
Anna wears penguin socks and jumps.
Photogs have fun.
Hot chocolate bar….didn’t unwrap my candy cane. Whoopsies.
What’s the hold up, Jimmy?
I have one more wedding on New Years!! But I cannot believe how amazing this year has been!! Thank you to everyone who has made it so great!!!
on any of these fine social media platforms…
